Cetaphil Skin Squad #GentlePower Party

DISCLOSURE:  I received free products from Crowdtap to host a #GentlePower Party.  No further compensation was provided.  All opinions are my own.

I first learned about Cetaphil products through one of my sisters.  She had been dealing with acne for years and her dermatologist had recommended she use Cetaphil cleanser to wash her face.  It would clean her oily face without making it too dry.  I didn't use it, but I remember the huge bottle of Cetaphil in the bathroom we shared.

Years later, I was reacquainted with Cetaphil when my kids developed eczema.  Their skin would get so itchy and they would get these patches of dry skin on their legs and arms.  Our pediatrician had prescribed a cream that was part Cetaphil and part steroid (triamcinolone).  It worked great!  I even started using it myself.  I would get dry areas on my legs that would get super irritated after shaving.  The cream worked wonders!

Recently, I had the opportunity to try some of Cetaphil's skincare products as well as share samples with friends with family.  I was sent an amazing party kit that included:

  • 1 full size package of Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths
  • 1 full size Cetaphil RestoraDerm Skin Restoring Body Wash
  • 1 full size Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15
  • 10 samples of Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths
  • 10 samples of Cetaphil RestoraDerm Skin Restoring Body Wash
  • 10 samples of Cetaphil RestoraDerm Skin Restoring Moisturizer
  • 20 samples of Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15
We had the party at my Mom's house, since I knew my other sister was coming to visit.  I invited several other friends and family, but sadly, not that many people were able to come.

We started with a yummy lunch that my Mom made:  Filipino noodles (pancit), Menudo, Rice, Watermelon and Cherries.

Then, it was time for just the girls to get together to try out the Cetaphil products.  I gave everyone a quick overview about the different Cetaphil products and then let everyone give them a try.

Showing them the samples they can take home.
First, we tried the Cetaphil RestoraDerm Skin Restoring Body Wash.  It's formulated to soothe dry, itchy skin associated with eczema and atopic dermatitis.  The creamy body wash gently cleanses and rinses without irritation.  It contains no soap and helps to moisturize skin as it cleanses.  It's safe for babies as young as 3 months.  It retails for $13.99.

My Mom and Aunt both found it to be a nice cleanser.  My sister didn't care for the smell, even though it's supposed to be fragrance-free.  I find it works well.  I didn't notice a bad scent.  It doesn't really smell like anything to me.  It's not as creamy as other body washes I've tried, but it does lather well.  A small dime-sized amount on a mesh sponge was enough to use in the shower.  Even with daily shaving this summer, using the Cetaphil RestoraDerm Skin Restoring Body Wash has helped me reduce my use of the Cetaphil/Triamcinolone cream.  My skin feels less itchy and irritated.

Next, we tried the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths.  They're pre-moistened and come in a resealable container.  It has a mild, soap-free formula that cleanses without irritation.  It thoroughly removes makeup and dirt, leaving skin feeling clean and refreshed. It's fragrance-free and retails for $7.49 for a 25-count package.

We all tested it on our faces.  Everyone liked how soft it felt.  I liked how it didn't leave a residue on my face, like some other cleansing cloths that I've tried in the past.  The cleansing cloth was really refreshing to use.  I like using cleansing cloths to wash my face with at night.  I feel like it does a better job at removing all the makeup and dirt than when I wash my face with a cleanser and water.  Plus, they're great for travel!

Last, we tried the Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15.  This moisturizer is suitable for all skin types.  It improves your skin's ability to retain vital moisture without clogging pores.  It protects against damaging UVA and UVB rays that can cause premature lines and wrinkles.  It's fragrance-free and retails for $12.49.

Everyone liked the moisturizer.  They liked how light it was and the fact that it had SPF protection built in.  I've been using it everyday now for a couple weeks.  It's great not having to worry about putting sunscreen on my face when I go out.  The SPF 15 in the moisturizer coupled with the SPF 15 in my BB cream work well.  I haven't had any sunburns yet!  It does a good job at moisturizing my skin.

Once everyone had a chance to try the products, they gladly took some samples home.  I also saved some samples for my one sister who wasn't able to come.  Thanks to Crowdtap and Cetaphil for the chance to try these products!
