Our Disney Side @ Home Celebration Party 2015 - Part 2 #DisneySide

Thursday, February 26, 2015

DISCLOSURE: I received free products from Disney Parks and MomSelect in order to host a Disney Side @ Home Celebration Party. All opinions are my own.

Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to host a Disney Side @ Home Celebration Party. My family and I love Disney and we had a great time showing our Disney Side. If you haven't already, please check out Part 1 of my party recap. You can read about all the planning that went into the party and how we decorated.

I didn't really figure out what I was going to wear for the party, until literally right before guests were supposed to arrive. I had originally planned on just putting on one of my Disney T-shirts and a Minnie Mouse headband that I had gotten from Disney World this past fall.

Then, I thought it would be cool to make my own Minnie Mouse ears. I really liked the ones my daughter had gotten from Disney World (though, sadly, she lost them at Hollywood Studios).

Show Your Disney Side With A Fun Photo Booth! #DisneySide

Saturday, February 21, 2015

DISCLOSURE: I received free products from Disney Parks and MomSelect to host a Disney Side @Home Celebration Party. All opinions are my own.

Earlier this month, we hosted a Disney Side @Home Celebration party. It was a fun way to share our love for all things Disney with our friends and family. One activity that we did during our party was to have a photo booth where guests could use props and take pictures of themselves.

Originally, I had planned on just ordering a set of props from Etsy and calling it a day. But, I really didn't want to spend the money and figured I could make my own for less money. I did a search on Google, but didn't really see many sites that had templates that I could use. I don't have a color printer, so I was looking for sites with printable templates that I could trace on to cardstock and foam.

Radha Beauty Vitamin C Serum, Intensive Youth Eye Gel, Retinol Moisturizer Review

DISCLOSURE: I received free products from Radha Beauty and BrandBacker to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.

Ever since I entered my mid-thirties (ugh, I hate admitting that!), I've become more aware of changes in my skin. My skin has gotten more dry and the skin tone has become uneven. My eyes just always look tired. I have eye bags that never go away and the skin around my eyes are always dark.

This has led to my search for skincare products that can help me improve the look of my skin. Recently, I had the opportunity to try out a few skincare products from Radha Beauty. The brand is fairly new, having launched in the summer of 2014. They specialize in natural skincare products and organic oils. I tried their Vitamin C Serum, Retinol Moisturizer and Intensive Youth Eye Gel.

Chocolate Chip Scones #SweetSwaps #SplendaSavvies

Thursday, February 19, 2015

DISCLOSURE: I was sent free products from Crowdtap and Splenda to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

It's been so cold lately. We had about six inches of snow come down the other day and today we have below zero wind chill temps. This is the kind of weather that makes me want to curl up with my favorite fuzzy blanket and have a nice cup of coffee and a pastry.

I've been on a scones kick lately and I thought it would be interesting to see how they'd taste if I used Splenda instead of sugar.  I've never baked with Splenda before and really only use Splenda in my coffee.

Our Disney Side @Home Celebration Party 2015 - Part 1 #DisneySide

DISCLOSURE:  I received free products in order to host the Disney Side @Home Celebration from Disney Parks and MomSelect.  The opinions expressed here are my own.

If you haven't figured it out already, my family and I are big Disney fans. We recently had the chance to share our love for Disney and show our Disney Side by throwing a Disney Side @Home Celebration party.

Hosts were sent a package of goodies from Disney that included many of the things needed to host a Disney party. Items in the kits were centered around a theme, such as Mickey & Friends, Disney Villains and Sophia The First. Our party kit had a Multi-Generational theme. You can see what came in our party kit in my unboxing post.

Since our theme was pretty general, it was kind of hard to figure out what direction to go with for decorations and food. The ideas I pinned on my Pinterest board were all over the place! My one son wanted to have a party with a Disney Infinity theme. My other son wanted either Big Hero 6 or Cars. My daughter wanted to showcase her favorite Disney movies, like Frozen and Tangled. I thought it would be fun to do a World Showcase at Epcot theme or maybe Magic Kingdom. So, we ended up just doing a combination of everything!

InstaNatural Dead Sea Mud Mask Review

Sunday, February 15, 2015

DISCLOSURE: I received a free product from InstaNatural and BrandBacker to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.

I hardly ever use facial masks. I hardly ever have 15 minutes to spare to use a mask. Today was one of the rare occasions where my husband and I were both off from work, so while he tended to the kids, I had a chance to try out a new mask that I received,

InstaNatural Dead Sea Mud Mask is an all-natural mask made from Pure Dead Sea Mud. It's enriched with minerals that help to extract excess oil and dirt, purge blemishes, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It helps to improve skin tone and when used as a body treatment, it can help to soothe and relieve muscle aches and pains. InstaNatural Dead Sea Mud Mask can be used once a week.

I have never used a mud mask before. So, when I first opened it, I was a little intimidated. The mud mask is dark gray and isn't really pretty to look at.  I put off trying it for awhile, because I was afraid of how my skin would react. It's pretty sensitive.

InstaNatural Youth Express Eye Gel Review

Friday, February 13, 2015

DISCLOSURE: I received a free product from Brandbacker and InstaNatural to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.

As I've gotten older, I've noticed that my eyes always look so tired. The skin around my eyes are dark and it looks like I have the smokey eye look, even though I'm not wearing any makeup. I have bags under my eyes that seem to never go away, no matter how much sleep I get. Plus, I have so many lines around my eyes now. Especially when I smile! I used to think my eyes were one of my best features, but now I spend a considerable amount of time concealing everything each morning.

I've tried numerous eye creams, gels and serums to try and get rid of the dark eye circles and to minimize the look of those fine lines around my eyes. The latest product I've had the chance to try is InstaNatural Youth Express Eye Gel.

Easy Mickey Mouse Rice Krispy Treats #DisneySide

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

We held our #DisneySide @Home Celebration party (recap post coming soon!) this past weekend. I thought it would be a great time to make one of my favorite Disney Parks snacks as favors for guests to take home.

I made some Mickey Rice Krispy Treats for my #DisneySide party last year, but they were small. This year, I wanted to make bigger ones, like the ones you see in the Disney Parks. I followed the recipe printed on the back of Kraft Jet-Puffed Marshmallows, except I used an 8x8 pan to make the Krispy Treats fatter.

Weight Watchers Big Game Hosted Party #WWSociety

Wednesday, February 4, 2015

DISCLOSURE: I received free products from Crowdtap and Weight Watchers in order to host the Weight Watchers Big Game Hosted Party. All opinions are my own.

I'm not a huge football fan. Our home team (the Washington Redskins) haven't been very good in YEARS! But, it's been a family tradition to meet up at my Aunt's house on Super Bowl Sunday for food (usually, lots of it) and conversation. As our parents have gotten older, they've been more reluctant to throw parties and it has been up to my siblings and I to continue to the traditions.

This year, no one had volunteered to host the Super Bowl. I had applied to host the Weight Watchers Super Bowl Party through Crowdtap, not really realizing what weekend it was. So, of course, when I was accepted, it dawned on me that I'm actually working that entire weekend! My Mom's birthday was a few days before the Super Bowl and because we weren't able to meet up with her on her actual birthday, my sisters and I decided we should have the Super Bowl party at her house and celebrate her birthday at the same time.
