Folgers Flavors Review #FolgersFans

DISCLOSURE:  I received free products from Crowdtap to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.

I love coffee.  I probably drink at least two cups a day. Sometimes more, if I'm really tired.  If I don't start my day with coffee, then I'm usually sluggish and not as alert during the day.

We usually don't buy flavored coffees in our household.  I find they don't taste as good as what you can get at the coffee shop.  We tend to stick with medium to dark roasts.  My husband just adds a little bit of cream, while I like to add cream and something to sweeten the coffee a little -- usually Splenda or sugar.  But, when we go to somewhere like Starbucks, I'll order something flavored, like a Caramel Macchiato or a Peppermint Mocha.

Recently, I had the chance to try Folgers Flavors.  They're a new line of coffee flavorings.  Just add one squeeze to your favorite cup of coffee to mix up the flavor! They're available in four flavors that you can mix and match to personalize your coffee experience:
  • Vanilla
  • Hazelnut
  • Mocha
  • Caramel

When I received the package with the Folgers Flavors, I was so excited to try them! They smelled so good when I was opening up the box!  I decided to try the Caramel first because that's my favorite flavor.

The container has a plastic label that's wrapped around it with a small area at the top that you're supposed to tear off to open it.  I didn't realize you weren't supposed to take off the whole label!  So I had to tape up the label so that I would remember which one was the Caramel!

It was easy to use once opened.  The instructions say to add a squeeze of the Folgers Flavors into your coffee.  I elected to add cream and Splenda to my coffee before adding the flavoring.  I wasn't sure how much to squeeze though.  I might have squeezed a little too much to try and get this picture:

It tasted good. It wasn't a very strong caramel flavor, but it was there.  But, I got a bad after taste in my mouth a little while later.  I wasn't sure if it was because I used a little too much or if it just how the Folgers Flavors are.

When I tried out the other flavors, I made sure to use a little less.  The Mocha flavor was okay.  It wasn't as chocolatey as I would have liked.  And even though I used a smaller amount, I still got a bad after taste.  It was like my mouth felt really dry and I had to drink a lot of water after to get rid of that feeling.  The Vanilla and Hazelnut also tasted fine while I drank it in the coffee, but I didn't care for how my mouth felt after drinking the coffee.

Overall, the Folgers Flavors aren't that bad.  They taste good in the coffee, but for me, they left my mouth feeling dry afterwards.  I mentioned to my husband how the first ingredient listed on the Folgers Flavors was propylene glycol.  He said, isn't that antifreeze?  I wasn't sure, but maybe that's why my mouth felt dry after?

If you've tried Folgers Flavors, I'd love to hear about your experience!  Tell me about it in the comments below!

  1. I love Folgers but I have not tried these yet. I mostly like plain coffee. On holidays or special ocassions I will drink flavored though. I just got some Creme Brulee flavored coffee. That was pretty good. Not Folgers but good.

    2. I also recently sampled the Mocha Folgers Flavors at $4 and it does have a noticeable highly chemical aftertaste, probably what you would imagine antifreeze would taste like.
