I love products that can multi-task. Anything that helps save me time when getting ready in the morning is a must for me. It can be kind of crazy in a house with four kids and so my makeup routine needs to be fast. But, I also don't want to look like I didn't really put any effort into getting ready. In the last few years, I've discovered BB creams. I love that BB creams moisturize, prime and even out my skin tone. I can wear it alone or under foundation, if I want more coverage.
I recently had the chance to try Physicians Formula Bronze Booster Glow-Boosting BB Bronzer. It combines the benefits of a bronzer with a BB cream. It protects, moisturizes, smooths, brightens and softens lines. It comes in a mistake-proof formula that's stain-free, streak-free, orange-free and odor-free -- unlike some sunless tanners. It's also good to note that Bronze Booster is paraben-free and gluten-Free.
Bronze Booster comes in a cute little compact with the letters BB on it. I guess it can stand for both Bronze Booster and BB cream!
When you open up the compact, you have the pressed powder bronzer with a sun pattern on it. Underneath it, there's a mirror and a compartment for the brush.
The Bronze Booster is available in two shades: Light to Medium and Medium to Dark. I was sent the Medium to Dark to try. I normally buy a Medium shade of foundation but I was worried that this would be a little too dark for me. Especially, since it's only the beginning of summer and I'm still pretty pale.
Since it's supposed to be like a BB cream, I applied it all over my face. Later on, I watched this video on how to apply and it said to basically apply wherever the sun hits your face.
Here's a side-by-side of my before and after shots. The shade wasn't too bad for my skin. It did seem to make my face look brighter and more even. It was easy to apply and felt really light on my skin. I didn't feel the need to put any additional moisturizer on. I like how it gives me a pretty natural look. Having the SPF 20 built in is a nice plus, too!
Would you recommend it?
Yes! I like how this gives you that sun-kissed look in addition to providing the benefits that a BB cream would give you. It's easy to apply and gives me a nice natural look.
How much does it cost? It retails for $14.99.
Where can I buy it? Available at all major drug stores, mass merchandisers and online retailers.
