I'm not a regular mouthwash user. I tend to use it most on the days leading up to a dental visit and any time I feel like my mouth could use some extra freshening. Most mouthwashes are just too strong for me to use everyday. But, when I do use mouthwash, it's usually Listerine. There's just something about that burn that makes me feel like it's working and getting rid of those bad breath germs!

Did you know brushing alone misses 75% of your mouth? This leaves plenty of room for bad breath and disease causing germs to grow. Listerine recently launched the 21 Day Challenge. They assert that you will feel a difference in your mouth after using Listerine for 21 days or they will refund your money.
I had the chance to participate in the Listerine 21 Day Challenge. I was sent a 1-L bottle of Listerine Antiseptic Mouthwash in Cool Mint for myself and another bottle to share with a friend. I chose to share with my Mom. When she lived in the Philippines, she didn't have access to good dental care and has had to use a partial denture for as long as I can remember. Growing up, she was always stressing good dental hygiene so that we wouldn't end up like her.
It's recommended to rinse with 20 mL for 30 seconds both morning and night. I'll have to admit, I didn't always do this. Especially, the morning rinse. I used it mainly at night and rinsing for a full 30 seconds is hard to do. You can definitely feel the burn when you rinse with Listerine Antiseptic! But, as I said earlier, that burn lets me know that it's working and killing those bad germs!
So, after three weeks, did my mouth feel cleaner? Yes! I am definitely going to try and make rinsing with Listerine a part of my oral hygiene routine. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow morning. We'll see what they say!
