SwimZip Swimwear Review

DISCLOSURE:  I was given free product to facilitate this review.  My opinions are my own.

Summer's just around the corner!  Our local pool just opened for the season this past weekend and right now we're away on vacation in the Outer Banks, NC.  This is the baby's first trip to the beach and we needed to get her some swimwear.  The house that we're staying at is within walking distance to the beach and has its own pool.  So, I wanted to get her several suits.  In addition to some swimsuits that we inherited from her older cousin, I had the chance to work with a great company called SwimZip.

SwimZip was born after its founder, Betsy Johnson, was diagnosed with skin cancer at age 26.  After recovering, she set out to create something that could help protect others from the harmful effects from the sun.  SwimZip offers UPF 50+ swimwear for babies, toddlers and children.  They feature:
  • Full length zipper - allows for easy-on and easy-off UV protection
  • Protective zipper flap - keeps your child's tummy safe when zipping on their SwimZip
  • Zipper garage - protects your child's chin from getting scratched or irritated by the zipper
  • Quality fabric - Lycra/Nylon blend allows for quick drying and is chlorine resistant
  • Flatlock stitching - leaves no chafing or irritating seams
  • Working drawstrings/elastic waistbands - important for skinny kids like mine!

I received the Daddy's Little Girl swim set for my daughter.  I was told the sizing runs a little big and so even though my daughter just turned 12 months, I opted for the 6-12 month size.

The blue gingham pattern and the pink bows were so cute!  I couldn't wait to put baby girl in it!  The material was really soft and I liked how easy it was going to be to put on.  Baby girl is so squirmy and hates getting changed!

It was a gorgeous 86 degree day when we took baby to the beach.  And she looked so adorable in her SwimZip suit!

Even cuter with an Instagram filter!

The ocean was a little too cold for the baby to go in, but she had a great time playing in the sand!  She did take a little dip in the pool when we got back to the beach house.  When it was time to change, it was so easy to take off her wet suit.

Would you recommend it?
Yes!  I'm definitely planning on buying more SwimZip suits for the baby and my other kids.  I love the built-in sun protection and the full zipper makes changing into and out of the suits so easy!

How much does it cost?
Swimwear ranges from $19.99 to $29.99.  They also offer hats, towels and cover ups that range in price from $19.99 to $29.99.

Where can I buy it?
It's available to purchase online from the SwimZip website or you can find a local retailer with the SwimZip Store Locator.

  1. How cute! I really love the amount of UV protection is provides too. Definitely checking out their styles for my brood of 3.

  2. That is adorable!! I love the UV protection and the fact that it zips up! My son hated having to pull those over his head because they were always so snug. Love this!
