Walgreens Simple Skincare Review

DISCLOSURE:  I was selected by Shespeaks.com to receive a Simple Skincare product to try and review.  All opinions are my own.

Back in February (yes, I'm behind on my blogging!), I was selected to participate in the Walgreens Simple Skincare Program from Shespeaks.com.  My task was to go to my local Walgreens and speak with the Beauty Advisor (I didn't know they had one!) about the new Simple Skincare line.  After doing so, I was to complete a short survey about my experience and in return I would receive a full size product from the Simple Skincare line.

So what is Simple Skincare?  It's a line of skincare products from the U.K.  They use only the purest possible ingredients and never use dyes or artificial perfumes that can irritate the skin.  They're actually the U.K.'s #1 skincare line of products.  Their products include facial cleansers, facial wipes, moisturizers and eye products such as a soothing eye balm and revitalizing eye roll-on to reduce puffiness.

I was eager and excited to take part in the program as I've never heard of the Simple line of skincare.  I have two Walgreens close to where I live.  One is in a kind of sketchy area, the other is newer and in a nicer area.  So of course, I figured the newer, nicer one would be a better place to go.  I went with my sister because she was already planning on picking up some things at Walgreens and because we both had never tried any of the Simple Skincare products.

When we walked in, the beauty counter was right there.  But it was empty.  We figured we'd look around and wait to see if the Beauty Advisor would come back.  We found the Simple Skincare display of products pretty easily on the shelf.  I had read that some people were able to get free samples and coupons from their Beauty Advisor so I was expecting some sort of sign near the display indicating we should speak with the Beauty Advisor to learn more about the new products.  But there wasn't really much there at all.  After hanging out in the Beauty aisles for about 5 minutes, we decided to go ahead and look for the other things my sister needed to buy.

After she was done shopping, we again stopped back at the Beauty aisles.  There still wasn't anyone there.  Really, the only people working in the store were the people in the Pharmacy and one girl checking people out at the registers.  I had to go back home soon because my husband had work in the afternoon so we left after my sister checked out.  Sadly, I didn't learn anything else about the Simple products and decided I didn't really like that Walgreens location!

Back at home, I filled out the survey on Shespeaks.com and indicated that I did not see a Beauty Advisor at my Walgreens location.  They did though send me a full sized Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash about a month later, which was great.  I was on the lookout for a new face wash.  The one I had been using didn't seem to be cleaning my face well enough since I kept breaking out.  Plus my old face wash was so hard to rinse off.

I love the Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash!  It's light, it foams well and is easy to rinse off.  It doesn't dry my skin out and my face isn't red after I've washed with it, unlike some other face washes I've used.  It contains two added vitamins:
  • PRO-VITAMIN B5 known to help restore, soften and smooth skin
  • VITAMIN E known to moisturize and improve skin's condition
It also contains BISABOLOL to help soothe and calm the skin.  This has become my favorite face wash and a couple months later, I'm still using the original bottle.  You don't need much to wash your face and a little goes a long way.

Would you recommend it?
Absolutely!  Even if you don't have sensitive skin, it's still a great line of products.  It's very gentle but yet does what it claims to do.  Plus it doesn't contain any harsh chemicals!

How much does it cost?
Products range from $5-$10 in price.

Where can I buy it?
You can find it in all major drug stores, mass merchandisers, grocery stores and online retailers.  You can also use Simple's Store Locator.
