Dr. Oetker Ristorante Pizza Review

DISCLOSURE:  I received coupons for two free boxes of Ristorante Pizza from Bzzagent.com to review and share.  All opinions are my own.

I have very picky kids when it comes to food.  They only eat certain things and it has to be cooked a certain way.  Pizza is no exception.  They only eat pizza with Italian sausage.  They're not fans of pepperoni.  They'll eat a cheese pizza but prefer sausage.  No veggies.  No other meats.

One day last week, I had no idea what to make for dinner.  I did have these two boxes of Dr. Oetker Ristorante Pizza that I had picked up at the grocery store, thanks to BzzAgent.  I hadn't yet had a chance to try them and figured now would be the perfect time to try one.  Problem was though these did not look your typical delivery chain pizza.  These were thin crust and with different toppings.  None of which were sausage!

I showed the boxes to my kids.  I said we had cheese (the Pizza Quattro Formaggi) and we had ham with pepperoni (the Pizza Speciale).  They looked at the pictures and said they would eat the ham and pepperoni.  Surprised, I went ahead and made it.

It was pretty easy to do.  You pre-heat the oven and then stick the frozen pizza right on the oven rack.  After it was cooked, I put it on a pizza pan.  It looked yummy.  Unfortunately, because I have a soy allergy, I couldn't actually eat the pizza.  =(  But the kids ate it!  My son even had two slices!  My son even said he liked it better than a certain chain restaurant's pizza (the one that changed everything about their pizza to make it more appealing...).

The only problem I've had with this pizza is it's hard to find.  There was only one grocery store in my area that carried it.  Granted, once I went into that store, they had a nice selection of varieties.  It was even on sale for 2/$8 when I picked up my pizza.  It would be great though if more stores carried it.

Would you recommend it?  Yes!  Even though I didn't get a chance to taste it, it looked so good.  And just the fact that my super picky kids liked it, I think it must taste amazing!  I only wish it were available in more stores.

How much does it cost?  I believe regular price is around $5.99.  Luckily, it was on sale for $4 when I bought it.  It's a little steep though for frozen pizza and I probably would only purchase it if it's on sale and if I had a coupon!

Where can I buy it?  It was only available in one store in my area.  Luckily, you don't have to go hunting for it.  They have a Store Locator to help you find it.
