Fisher Price Ultimate Playdate #RSVPplaydate

DISCLOSURE:  I received free products from Vocalpoint in order to throw an Ultimate Playdate.  All opinions are my own.

Yesterday we had the chance to throw a Fisher Price Ultimate Playdate, thanks to the RSVP program through Vocalpoint.  We were sent two new Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages toys to review, as well as other fun party supplies.

The party kit included:
  • Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Chair
  • Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Puppy's Smart Stages Train
  • 6 Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Click 'n Learn Remotes
  • 6 Fisher Price Two-Grip Travel Sippy Cups
  • 6 Fisher Price Tote Along Snackers
  • 5 gift bags
  • 1 playmat
  • Photo booth props
  • Napkins
The fun things included in the party kit. (Minus one remote that baby had already claimed!)

We were supposed to hide the toys from the kids until party time, which proved to be somewhat difficult.  Look at the size of the box the party kit came in!  I had to put it in our home office and shut the door to keep all the kids out!

The toys are designed for kids under three years of age and so we were supposed to invite friends with kids who were 2 and under.  I decided to invite my sister, who has a 13 month old, my brother, who has a 2 year old, and my old college roommate.  I hadn't seen her in years and she was back in the area and had had a baby in December.  So it was going to be great to see her again and to meet her son!

The toys included in The Ultimate Playdate feature Smart Stages.  There are three levels of play with content that grows with your child:
  • Level One - Explore.  Introduces early learning concepts and first words.
  • Level Two - Encourage.  Play prompts build on learning.
  • Level Three - Pretend.  Encourages imitation and imagination.

The Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Puppy's Smart Stages Train features:
  • 50+ sing-along songs, tunes & phrases
  • 3 levels of play offer fresh songs, phrases & sounds for your little one's age & stage
  • Manual switch for Smart Stages level changes
  • Place any figure in the conductor's seat to hear opposites
  • Includes Puppy, Monkey & Froggy rattle figures - just the right size for baby's hands
  • Teaches colors, shapes, letters, opposites and more
  • Recommended for ages 6-36 months
  • Retails for $35

The Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Chair features:
  • 50+ sing-along songs, tunes & phrases
  • Enter baby's age for automatic Smart Stages level changes or manually change levels with the switch
  • Seat activates songs & phrases when baby sits & stands
  • Busy activities include an illustrated flip-book & light-up remote control with buttons to press
  • Lift the seat cushion for fun surprises
  • Teaches first words, numbers, shapes, colors and more
  • Recommended for ages 12+ months
  • Retails for $40
I set the party up in my living room.  I used one of my daughter's old science fair backboards and a beach towel to make a backdrop for my table.  I cut out the RSVP Vocalpoint logo from the shipping box and made a sign with some of the included photo booth props.  I also made sure to include the hashtag -- #RSVPplaydate -- so guests would know what to use if they posted any pictures online.

I put together the goody bags for the guests to take home.  I included one of the Laugh & Learn remotes, a sippy cup, a snack keeper and coupons they could use towards buying the new Fisher Price toys.

I put the playmat on the floor and set up an area to take photo booth pictures.  I didn't really take note of it at the time of the playdate.  But, the playmat has train tracks for the kids to use the train on!

For the photo booth, I covered our TV stand with a beach blanket and stuck some of the provided cut outs onto it.  I also stuck some of the photo booth props on wooden skewers (I cut the pointed end off).

I had my playdate around 11 AM, to give myself some time to get ready in the morning and time for my guests to come (my sister lives an hour and a half away).  I decided on a light menu on fruit, chips and salsa, muffins (sadly, store bought) and GoGo squeeZ applesauce pouches.  I had originally planned on making homemade macaroni and cheese but I ran out of time in the morning. My brother was disappointed.

Once the guests were all here, I brought the toys out.  The boys were instantly attracted to the train and the girls played with the chair.

The older boys liked to push the train and make the cars crash into each other.  I didn't even realize until late during the playdate that the train can move by itself!  The younger kids liked the songs and the little figures it comes with.

While the boys did mainly play with the train, the girls got a chance to play with it, too.  Likewise, the boys also got to chance to play with the chair a bit.

While the kids played, the adults played with the photo booth!

Overall, the train was the most popular during our playdate.  At first, most people thought the Smart Stages Chair was a potty!  For the most part, the kids would sit in it a little bit and maybe press a couple buttons on the remote and flip through the book, but then they'd get up and start playing with something else.  The train definitely held their attention longer.

Thanks to Vocalpoint and Fisher Price for a fun playdate!

    1. Hi Diana! Anyone can join Vocalpoint! In the past, they would offer free products or coupons in exchange for a review. They've recently changed and this is, I think, their first offering for the RSVP program.
