ZonePerfect® Greek Yogurt Bars

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free ZonePerfect® Greek Yogurt Bar from Influenster to try and review.

With four kids, life can be so busy that I don't have time to sit down and eat a full meal.  That's why I love having foods on hand that I can just grab and take with me to eat on the go.  Cereal and nutrition bars work great for this.

Recently, I had the opportunity to try ZonePerfect Greek Yogurt Bars.  These nutrition bars provide you with the protein you need to keep going, without compromising on taste.  Each ZonePerfect Greek Yogurt Bar provides 12 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber and are made with Greek yogurt.  It's available in three great flavors:
  • Greek Yogurt Chocolate
  • Greek Yogurt Raspberry
  • Greek Yogurt Vanilla Berry

I was sent a sample of the Greek Yogurt Raspberry bar.  I was excited to try it since I've never eaten any ZonePerfect bar before and this one sounded like it would be really good.  Sadly, what did I see as the first ingredient listed?  Soy Protein Nuggets.  Made from soy protein isolate -- something I've recently found out I'm allergic to!  Sad face.

So, I asked my husband to try the ZonePerfect bar for me.  He doesn't normally eat bars, but he was willing to try them for me.  He didn't think they were that bad.  It was mildly sweet, though somewhat dry in the middle of the bar.  The mouth feel was what you would expect out of a nutrition bar.  He did feel that he needed to drink something after eating the bar, since it was somewhat drying.  But, he did eat the whole thing.

Would you recommend it?
Since I didn't get a chance to eat it myself (darn soy allergy!), I can't wholeheartedly recommend it.  But, my husband liked it, and he doesn't normally eat these kinds of foods.  Would he eat it again?  He says, only if it's free.  I think these would be great to keep with you as a snack.  Keep some in your purse or diaper bag, or in your desk at work.  Something to eat when you don't have the time for a sit down meal.

How much does it cost?  The suggested retail price is $1.25 a bar.

Where can I buy it?  You can find it at all major drug stores, mass merchandisers, grocery stores and online retailers..  Or you can check the ZonePerfect Store Locator.
