NYC New York Color Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm Review

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free NYC New York Color Applelicious from Influenster.com to try and review.  All opinions are my own.

I love learning about and trying out new makeup!  I've seen the NYC New York Color brand in stores, but have never had the chance to try them out.  They have a full line of cosmetics for your face, eyes, lips and nails.  Thanks to Influenster, I had the opportunity to try their Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm.

This lip balm delivers color, shine and moisture in one single swipe!  It's available in 10 fun shades:
  • Blushing Golden
  • Caramel Apple
  • Chocolate Apple
  • Pink Lady
  • Apple Blossom
  • Applelicious Pink
  • Big Apple Red
  • Apple Blueberry Pie
  • Garnet Gala
  • Apple Plum Pie
The lip balms are really cute.  In the middle, they have an apple-shaped core filled with Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E and Avocado Oil.  This helps lips feel softer, smoother and moister.  They all have a nice fruity apple scent, too!

In my kit, I was sent the Big Apple Red shade.  It smelled really good!  The lip balm glided on smoothly and wasn't sticky.  Usually, when I apply lip color, I use a clear lip balm first to moisturize my lips and make my lip color go on more smoothly.  I felt this balm did a pretty good job at moisturizing my lips and at providing a little bit of color.  It was subtle.  But, I felt this would be good to use if I was in a hurry.  Put some CC cream on, a quick swipe of eyeshadow, line my eyes and put this lip balm on and I'd be ready to go.

Here's a picture of me before putting the lip balm on:

And here I am after.  It gave my lips a little bit of color and shine.

Would you recommend it? Yes.  It's a nice lip balm and it's great that it moisturizes and provides color, all at the same time.  It smells nice and comes in a good range of shades.  I did feel I had to reapply for added moisture, but my lips tend to be really dry.

How much does it cost?  It retails for $2.99.

Where can I buy it?  You can find it at all major drug stores, mass merchandisers, grocery stores and online retailers.
