DISCLOSURE: I received a free product from Ecovacs and Tryazon in exchange for hosting a party and sharing my honest review. No further compensation was provided. All opinions are my own.

I've always wanted to own a robotic vacuum. I thought it would be so cool to have one to clean the house for me. So, I jumped at the chance to host this party from Ecovacs and Tryazon. Ecovacs sent me the DEEBOT T30S vacuum and mop system.

WHO IS ECOVACS?

PARTY RECAP AND REVIEW

We had several family members over for our annual crab feast that we host every summer. I thought it was the perfect time to showcase the DEEBOT T30S. There was only one guest who had prior experience with a robotic vacuum, but he owned a different brand. The others were not too familiar with how they worked.

They were surprised at the size of the base station, commenting it was a lot bigger that they thought it would be.

I showed them how it could respond to my voice commands. I had it exit the base station. The app indicated I could tell it to move in different directions or move a certain distance. But, the unit told me the particular model I had did not support that task. So, that was a little disappointing.

They did like how it could both vacuum and mop and were amazed that it could detect when it was on carpet vs when it was on flooring. Though, I did find it could not differentiate between the tile in our bathroom and the small rugs in there. So, it ended up mopping both the rugs and the tile.

A lot of the guests were interested in owning one but were not too thrilled at the cost of the unit.

For me, I liked how I could control it with the app and voice commands. When I initially mapped the first floor of our house, I had left chairs where they normally are. We have a small home, so it didn't take too long to create the initial map. Maybe 5 or 10 minutes. But then I deleted that map and made a new map where I moved my desk chair and the kitchen chairs, so it could clean underneath.

I wish the unit came with a small bottle of cleaning solution in the original kit. Right now, it only uses water to mop the floors. But I'm sure it would do a better job at cleaning the floors with the cleaning solution.

I'm really looking forward to using this a lot more. I haven't yet set up a schedule for the vacuum to clean the house, but I'm hoping to have it vacuum and mop the house when I'm at work a few times a week. I do like that it has the ability to maneuver around objects, so I don't have to necessarily move furniture around before I want to clean the floors.

Since I've only been using it for a week or so, I don't know yet what kind of upkeep is involved with it. I'll have to see how often the dust bag will need to be replaced and how easy it would be to order more.  The same goes for the brushes and mop pads. I'm hoping the unit lasts for a long time.
