My family and I have been making the effort to use more natural and organic products, both in the foods we eat and in the personal care products we use. While cost and availability have been a factor, we try to buy natural and organic when we can.

We recently made the move to trying natural toothpaste. We had been somewhat hesitant in the past to making the switch to natural toothpaste. Other brands that we had tried before either didn't taste good or they just didn't leave our teeth feeling clean or fresh at all.

Thanks to Moms Meet, we were sent several varieties of Himalaya Botanique Complete Care Toothpaste. The toothpaste offers a different approach to ingredients. It's free from harmful ingredients that are commonly found in other toothpastes, such as fluoride, carrageenan and sodium lauryl sulfate. Instead, Himalaya Botanique Complete Care Toothpastes uses all natural ingredients to help fight plaque, freshen breathe and whiten and brighten teeth.

Ingredients

Neem
It cleans teeth and gives this formulation its sparkle. It's history's original housekeeper and works to keep the mouth clean.

Pomegranate
It is an astringent fruit extract that helps support healthy looking gums.

Triphala
It is a traditional detox formula in ancient Ayurveda composed of the three myrobalan fruits for clean teeth and a radiant smile.

Xylitol from birch tree
This is a tooth-friendly sweetener that has been clinically studied to support good oral health.

Papain & Bromelian
These enzymes from papaya and pineapple help remove surface stains, so teeth shine brighter

The Himalaya Botanique Complete Care Toothpaste line is available in seven varieties:
  • Whitening Complete Care Toothpaste in Simply Peppermint
  • Complete Care Toothpaste in Simply Cinnamon
  • Complete Care Toothpaste in Simply Mint
  • Whitening Complete Care Toothpaste in Simply Mint
  • Complete Care Toothpaste in Simply Peppermint
  • Complete Care Toothpaste in Simply Spearmint
  • Original Neem & Pomegranate Toothpaste (not pictured)

I wasn't sure what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised by how well the toothpaste foamed. The toothpaste tasted great. Even the cinnamon, which I was a little scared to try. After brushing, my teeth felt clean and my breath felt fresh. It actually was more fresh than when after using my regular toothpaste. I immediately stopped using my old toothpaste and switched to Himalaya Botanique.

Fresh and clean teeth!

Some of my kids can be kind of picky about their toothpaste. Either they don't like the flavor or the mouth feel of the toothpaste. Most of my kids had no problems using Himalaya Botanique. One kid still preferred the flavor of their regular toothpaste and wouldn't make the switch.

Himalaya Botanique Complete Care Toothpaste can be purchased at natural health food stores, such as Whole Foods and Sprouts, as well as online retailers. The toothpaste retails for $5.99.
