It's Tee Time At Old Navy! - Spring 2013 Line Review

Monday, April 1, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  As a member of Crowdtap and the Old Navy Style Council, I received a coupon for me and a friend to get two free tee shirts at Old Navy.  All opinions are my own.

Spring is here!  Time to break out the warmer weather clothes!  Looking for something new to add to your Spring wardrobe?  Check out Old Navy's collection of Basic Layering Tops!  They're a great staple to have in your closet.

Old Navy's tees have been improved and are now available in two great fits:  The Perfect and the Vintage.  The Perfect Tees feature:
  • A universally flattering fit
  • Classic ribbed knit
  • Now come with added stretch
The Vintage Tees feature:
  • Old Navy's most relaxed fit
  • Are heathered for a worn-in look
  • A super-soft feel
When I was given the opportunity to try Old Navy's new tees, I was excited!  They were going to send me a coupon for me and a friend to receive two free Women's Best Tees!  But sadly, I'm also 32 weeks pregnant and there are no maternity versions of this shirt!  Rather than trying to squeeze myself into my normal size shirt and showing off my belly, I decided to give one coupon to my sister and the other to my Mom.

We met up at the mall last week.  Our store had two separate displays: one for the Vintage Tees and the other larger one for the Perfect Tees.  Here's a picture of the Vintage Tee Display:

And here's a picture of my sister checking out the larger Perfect Tees display:

I love my how many colors and styles the tees come in!  They have V-necks and crew-necks, solid colors and stripes, short and long sleeves!  I just wish they had the same variety for maternity shirts!  They're inexpensive and a nice basic to layer with.

It didn't take long for my sister and Mom to pick out what they wanted to try on.  Since I wasn't going to get to try on any of the tees, I stopped in the maternity section to pick up a couple dresses to try on.  They were having a sale on Women's dresses and had maternity maxi dresses for $25.

The first thing my sister tried on was one of the Women's Perfect Henleys in red.  She liked the fit and the color.

My Mom didn't really care for any of the Perfect Fit Tees.  She thought they were a little too tight-fitting and because she's a little bigger, she thought it would just  accentuate every lump and bump she had.  Instead, she opted to use her coupon on just the Vintage Tees.  Here she is with my sister, who also tried on a Vintage tee.  My Mom is wearing the Soft Vintage Crew-Neck Tee in Bright Blue and my sister is wearing the Vintage-Style V-Neck Tee in Medium Gray.

My Mom also picked up the Vintage-Style V-Neck Tee in Charcoal.

And because none of us can go to Old Navy without picking up other items, here's a picture of my Mom and sister with everything they were buying!

Because I was feeling a little left out of the fun, I ended up buying one of the maternity maxi dresses that I tried on.  It seemed to fit me better than the other ones I tried.  I think I might wear this one to my baby shower!  And I'm hoping I can wear it even after baby is here.

Would you recommend it? Yes!  Old Navy has a great line of basic tees.  They come in a wide variety of colors and styles and in two fits.  There's something for everyone!  Unless you're hugely pregnant, like me!  That's the only drawback that I could see.

How much does it cost?  Women's Basic Layering Tops are regularly priced, starting from $8.50.

Where can I buy it?  In Old Navy stores and oldnavy.com.
