My First Experience With Blue Apron - REVIEW

Thursday, April 23, 2020

About a month ago, my husband and I decided we were going to give Blue Apron a try. We had been playing around with the idea of signing up for a meal delivery service for a couple years after we had had the chance to try a different meal delivery service. We liked the convenience of it. Now, given the current circumstances and stay-at-home order issued by our state, our Blue Apron box came at a perfect time.

Blue Apron is one of many meal delivery services currently available. They deliver the ingredients and the recipe for the meals you choose each week. You can choose how often and how many meals you want to receive. You can even choose which recipes you want to try.

Our first box included everything needed to prepare three different meals. We chose a 4 serving plan. Even though we are a family of six, our kids are pretty picky and we knew they all wouldn't always be willing to try everything that came.

REVIEW

We found the meals to be pretty easy to prepare. The recipes provided step-by-step directions and pictures. Even though one person could probably prepare the meals themselves, we found it easier if my husband and I both worked on them together. My youngest even tries to help us sometimes.

Of the three meals included in our first box, one was a clear winner. The very first meal we tried was the Za'atar-Spiced Chicken Pitas and almost the entire family liked it! The other two meals included were also tasty, but not as well received by my kids.

What I like best is the variety it gives us. Many of the meals are foods that we normally wouldn't try. Some of the ingredients are things we have never bought before. I like that it exposes my kids to different foods. My older kids, especially, have discovered foods that they actually do like, such as sugar snap peas and baby bok choy!

Overall, we've been pleased with the decision to sign up for Blue Apron.
