Goody® Athletique Reversible Quick Dry Headbands Review

DISCLOSURE:  I received a complimentary product from Influenster to facilitate this review.  My opinions are my own.

I don't tend to wear headbands.  They usually don't stay on my head and often, they aren't very comfortable to wear.  My nine-year-old daughter wears a headband almost everyday, but she tends to wear the hard plastic kind.  When I've tried to wear them, they end up hurting my ears and sliding off my head.

In the Violet VoxBox that I recently got from Influenster, I received the Goody Athletique Reversible Quick Dry Headband.  The Goody Athletique line of products give you hold and comfort so you can be physically active and strong in body and mind.  The headband features:
  • Lightweight, moisture-wicking fabric that keeps you cool, dry and comfortable
  • Reversible for two looks in one
  • Wide band shape holds back flyaways

Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo

Friday, December 20, 2013

DISCLOSURE: I received a free product from Influenster to facilitate this review. My opinions are my own.

It takes me forever to get ready in the morning.  The majority of the time is spent doing my hair.  I wash it pretty much every morning.  But, I can't just wash and go.  With my thick hair and slight wave, I have to blow dry it straight and then go over it at the end with a flat iron.  If I'm planning to go anywhere in the morning, I know that I have to get up at least 2 hours before I need to leave to make sure I have enough time to get ready.  Not cool when I end up having to get up at 4:30 in the morning!

I had read about dry shampoos a few years ago and it sounded like it would be the answer to my prayers!  Something I could spray in my hair that gets rid of the oiliness and gross feeling my hair gets the second day.  I started out with a couple drugstore brands, but they didn't give me the results I wanted.  Then, I tried a couple salon brands, but also wasn't happy with the results.  So, when I received the Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo, I got excited.  Yay, something else to try! And I wouldn't have to feel bad shelling out money if it didn't work...

Lancome Paris DreamTone Customized Skin Tone Correcting Serum Review

Thursday, November 21, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free bottle of Lancome DreamTone from SheSpeaks to facilitate this review.  My opinions are my own.

As I've gotten older, I've started paying more attention to my skin.  I've started to notice the the little lines, skin imperfections, uneven skin tone and dark spots.  I've started to have a regular skincare routine that I do twice a day.  A part of that routine includes a dark spot corrector.

Even though I'm in my 30s, I still get blemishes every now and then.  They take forever to go away and eventually leave a dark spot on my skin.  I've tried a couple dark spot correctors, but haven't noticed much of a difference in my skin.

I recently had the opportunity to try Lancome DreamTone, a customized skin tone correcting serum.  It visibly corrects dark spots, uneven skin tone, and color imperfections, like sallowness, redness and acne/blemish marks.  It immediately gives you glowing skin and within a week, 70% of women who've tried it noticed a more even skin tone.  After four weeks use, the appearance of dark spots were reduced and after 8 weeks, 78% of women saw a reduction in color imperfections.

Airborne Immune Support Supplement

Tuesday, November 19, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free bottle of Airborne Gummies from Smiley360 to try and review.  My opinions are my own.

Cold season is upon us.  With a job and four kids to take care of, I can't afford to get sick.  It's nice to know that in addition to eating right, drinking plenty of water, getting enough sleep and using proper hygiene, there are products available to help support your immune system.

I recently had the opportunity to try Airborne Immune Support Supplements.  It's packed with a unique blend of vitamins, minerals, herbs and a blast of Vitamin C.  It's available in several forms and flavors, including effervescent tablets, gummies, chewable tablets, and lozenges.  I had the chance to try the Airborne Gummies in Assorted Fruit Flavors.

Truvia Brunch Party #SweetSwitch #TruFanBrunch

Sunday, November 10, 2013

DISCLOSURE: I was sent a free kit of Truvia products from Crowdtap to host a party and try Truvia.  My opinions are my own.

If you've been following this blog for awhile, then you know that I'm not really a fan of Truvia in my coffee.  There's just something about it that isn't very palatable for me.  BUT, I've never tried baking with Truvia (or any other sweetener, other than sugar).  So, when I was given the chance to host a brunch party and use Truvia to bake up some breakfast treats, I decided to give it a go.

My Dad's birthday was coming up and my sister recently got engaged.  So, there were two perfect reasons to get friends and family together.

The party kit was pretty nice.  The company was very generous! It included:
  • 1 package of Truvía Baking Blend
  • 2 40-count packages of Truvía packets
  • 2 80- count packages of Truvía packets
  • 2 packages of Truvía spoonable
  • Folgers Gourmet Selections Vanilla Biscotti Ground Coffee
  • Smucker’s Sugar Free Strawberry Preserves with Truvía®
  • 1 Truvía Brand “I love you when you’re not cranky” mug
  • Truvía brand apron
  • Truvia brand wooden spoon
  • 1 Brunch Party Insert
Since, most of my guests weren't going to be free until the afternoon/evening, my brunch was held around dinner time.  But, that was cool.  Who doesn't like breakfast at dinner?

All my babies loved being in a swing.  Baby #4 is no exception.  So, I was excited to get a chance to try the Bright Starts Up, Up & Away Plug In Sway & Swing.  We never had anything like this for my other children and I thought this would be really great to have in the house.

Truvia Natural Sweetener and the #SweetSwitch

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

DISCLOSURE: I received a free sample of Truvia Natural Sweetener from Crowdtap to try and review.

I reviewed Truvia Natural Sweetener about a year and a half ago.  I didn't really care for it then.  Recently, I had the opportunity to try it again and to participate in Truvia's #SweetSwitch campaign, which encourages you to switch from using artificial sweeteners to something more natural, like Truvia.

Truvia is derived from the leaves of the stevia plant.  Stevia leaves are steeped in water and the sweet extract is blended with erythritol (a sugar alcohol found in various fruits) crystals and natural flavors.  Truvia is available in individual packets, a spoonable jar and in a Baking Blend that combines Truvia with sugar.

GEVALIA Kaffe Cafe-Style Beverages Review

Monday, October 21, 2013

Luckily, you can now brew your favorite specialty drinks at home with GEVALIA's new Cafe-Style Beverages!  They're available in three varieties:
  • Mocha Latte
  • Caramel Macchiato
  • Cappuccino

We received the Transformers Construct-Bots Ultimate Set.  This includes 135 pieces that you can use to build and customize Optimus Prime and Megatron.

ALOXXI Texturizing Spray Review

Wednesday, October 9, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I received a bottle of Aloxxi Texturizing Spray for free from People StyleWatch Style Hunters to try and review.

I pretty much style my hair the same way everyday.  I shower, blow dry with a round brush and paddle brush and then run a flat iron through it.  If I don't do these things, my hair dries into a big, frizzy, wavy mess!

I'm always on the lookout for new products to try for my hair.  Recently, I had the opportunity to try Aloxxi Texturizing Spray.  This product helps to build definition and texture, while keeping your hair healthy, shiny and protects your hair color from fading by blocking damaging UV rays.  Instead of using salt, like other texturizing sprays, Aloxxi uses zeolite to add volume and texture without drying out locks or fading hair color.  It also contains glycerin to help promote moisture retention for softer, silkier hair.

Aloxxi Texturizing Spray claims it can give your hair a sexy, wind-blown look without making it look dull, faded, or damaged.  I set out to see if it delivers on that promise.

ZonePerfect® Greek Yogurt Bars

Saturday, September 28, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free ZonePerfect® Greek Yogurt Bar from Influenster to try and review.

With four kids, life can be so busy that I don't have time to sit down and eat a full meal.  That's why I love having foods on hand that I can just grab and take with me to eat on the go.  Cereal and nutrition bars work great for this.

Recently, I had the opportunity to try ZonePerfect Greek Yogurt Bars.  These nutrition bars provide you with the protein you need to keep going, without compromising on taste.  Each ZonePerfect Greek Yogurt Bar provides 12 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber and are made with Greek yogurt.  It's available in three great flavors:
  • Greek Yogurt Chocolate
  • Greek Yogurt Raspberry
  • Greek Yogurt Vanilla Berry

Lunchables Jr Review

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I received two packages of Lunchables Jr from Crowdtap to try and review.

My kids love to snack.  It's like they're ALWAYS hungry.  They're always asking for something to eat.  One of the first phrases my youngest son learned to say was "My hungry."

My husband and I almost always pack snacks for the kids whenever we go on a car trip because one (or all) of our kids is inevitably going to get hungry.  We usually pack snacks in little baggies and put them in a cooler or a plastic shopping bag.  The snacks we pack are usually the same few things: raisins, cereal, Goldfish crackers (or something similar), grapes and applesauce pouches.

Now, Lunchables has come out with a new line of snacks that combines some of these kid favorites into cute little packages that you can take with you on-the-go.  They come in four different varieties with cute names and are currently available exclusively at Walmart:
  • Ants On A Log - Peanut Butter, Sun-Maid Raisins, Honey Graham Sticks
  • Teddy Bear Picnic - Peanut Butter, Dried Apple Pieces, Teddy Grahams Honey Graham Snacks
  • Very Beary Crunch - Ritz Bits Cheese Cracker Sandwiches, Strawberry Flavored Dried Apple Pieces, Teddy Grahams Honey Graham Snacks
  • Blueberry Bonanza - Cheez-It Baked Snack Crackers, Blueberry Flavored Dried Apple Pieces, Mini Nilla Wafers

Monday, September 9, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free issue of All You Magazine from Crowdtap to facilitate this review.

It's a new school year.  My kids have been back now for a couple weeks.  The weeks preceding the first day of class was a little chaotic.  With the new baby, we were pretty late in getting the kids ready for the new school year.  We ended up buying their backpacks and school supplies the day before school started!  It would have been great to have something to help me get organized and better prepared for the first day of school.

The Good Life VoxBox from Influenster Overview

Sunday, September 1, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  As a member of Influenster, I was chosen to receive a set of several items to try and review.  All opinions are my own.

Once again, I was chosen to receive a VoxBox from Influenster.  If you're unfamiliar with Influenster, it's a community of members who are sent products to try and review.  Members share their experiences and complete Brand Challenges, for a chance to earn rewards.  The more you share, the more opportunities you have to earn rewards.

This time, I was sent The Good Life VoxBox.  This box celebrates the everyday pursuit of health and happiness.  The Good Life VoxBox featured a couple brands that I was somewhat familiar with and others that were new to me.  I haven't actually tried any of the products before and am excited to try them out.  The package contained:
  • New-Skin Liquid Bandage - I'm not familiar at all with this brand or liquid bandages, in general.  It's supposed to provide good coverage and protection for large cuts and scrapes, as well as help to prevent blisters.  This sounds like it would be good for my kids, who are always getting hurt when they play outside, as well as my husband, since he's an avid runner.
  • ZonePerfect Greek Yogurt Bars - I've heard of the ZonePerfect brand, but have no tried any of their bars.  I was sent the Greek Yogurt Raspberry flavor.  It sounds good and it provides a good amount of fiber and protein!
  • UrgentRx Fast Powders - I've heard of these but have never really seen them in stores or tried them out.  I received the Ache & Pain variety.  This would be great to keep in my purse, as opposed to carrying around a bottle of pain reliever!  This is so much more compact and portable.
  • The Vitamin Shoppe Garcinia Cambogia - I've never heard of this supplement before.  It's supposed to help with weight management and appetite control.  This could be helpful.  I had a baby three months ago and still working on losing the weight.  Maybe this will help with my late night snacking!
  • Nonni's THINaddictives - These look good.  Sadly, I won't be able to eat it since it has almonds and I'm allergic... But, luckily, my husband can eat it and let me know how it is!

I'll be posting reviews in the next week or so.  Check back to see what I thought of them!

Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipstick Review

Tuesday, August 27, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I reviewed a free Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipstick from People StyleWatch Style Hunters to try and review.

I love trying new makeup.  It's fun playing with different colors and achieving different looks.  When I find a makeup product that I like, I end up using it forever!  Recently, I had the opportunity to try Mary Kay's True Dimensions Lipstick.

I've never really used many Mary Kay products before.  I've only had a "facial" done once by a Mary Kay consultant.  She was actually one of my patients and at the end of the exam, she asked if I was interested in getting a facial done.  I agreed, since I was interested in checking out some of the Mary Kay products and I was planning on having my sisters come over, too.  I ended up buying eyeshadow and foundation, but didn't really use them much.

NERF Rebelle Review

Tuesday, August 20, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free NERF Rebelle Heartbreaker Bow from NERF and BzzAgent to try and review.

My boys love playing with their NERF guns.  We have darts all over the house.  My 9 year old daughter will play with them from time to time, but doesn't like to admit that she likes to play with "boy toys."  She says she'd be embarrassed if anyone saw her or heard about her playing with them.  Luckily, NERF has come out with a line of crossbows and blasters -- just for girls!  NERF Rebelle!

I was sent a kit from BzzAgent to try and review the Heartbreaker Bow from the NERF Rebelle line.  The kit included:
  • A NERF Rebelle Heartbreaker Bow
  • A Dart Refill Pack
  • A NERF Rebelle brochure
  • Rebelle-Themed Temporary Tattoos
  • Coupons to pass along

Infantino Go Gaga! Stack, Sort & Ball Drop Elephant

Wednesday, July 31, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I have received the Go Gaga! Stack, Sort & Ball Drop Elephant from Infantino to facilitate my review.

I recently had the opportunity to try and review a new toy from Infantino: the Stack, Sort & Ball Drop Elephant from the Go Gaga! Collection.  It features four fun activities:
  • Shape Sorter
  • Ball Drop
  • Push and Go Spinner
  • Stacking Rings
Each activity is supposed to help encourage fine motor development, hand-eye coordination and rewards early problem solving efforts.  It's recommended for infants 6 months and up.

The Shape Sorter features three colored blocks in three different shapes.  It rewards your child with song, sounds and light when they put the blocks into the elephant.

There are three small balls included in three different colors.  Your child can drop them into the elephant or balance one on the elephant's trunk.  The balls are easy for small hands to hold.

RUSK Deepshine® Color Care Invisible Dry Shampoo Review

Sunday, July 21, 2013

DISCLOSURE: I received a free bottle of RUSK Deepshine® Color Care Invisible Dry Shampoo from StyleWatch Style Hunters to try and review.  All opinions are my own.

I hate my hair.  It's thick, coarse, and has a slight wave.  So, I usually end up washing it every morning and then blow drying and flat ironing it straight.  As I've gotten older, the grays have started coming in.  So, I've also started coloring my hair in the past year.  This has changed the texture of my hair, making it even dryer and harder to style.

I hardly ever go a day now without washing it.  My second day hair is pretty flat and oily if I straighten it.  If I leave it wavy, it's dry and frizzy and kind of crazy.  The idea of dry shampoo sounds appealing and like something I'd want to use, but of the several kinds of tried, they never seemed to work for me.  So, when I was given the chance to try another one, I was hopeful, but still skeptical.

Colgate Total Advanced Pro-Shield Mouthwash Review

Saturday, July 20, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free bottle of Colgate Total Mouthwash from Influenster.com to try and review.  All opinions are my own.

I don't use mouthwash regularly.  While, I do brush and try to floss regularly, I find that most mouthwashes burn too much for me to use everyday.  I'll use them from time to time, whenever I felt like my mouth and teeth could use some extra cleaning.  When I was asked to try and review the new Colgate Total Advanced Pro-Shield Mouthwash, I was excited!

Colgate Total Advanced Pro-Shield Mouthwash provides up to 12 hours of protection -- even after eating and drinking.  All without the burn of alcohol!  It kills 99% of germs, reduces plaque, helps prevent gingivitis and freshens your breath.  It's available in three flavors:
  • Peppermint Blast
  • Spearmint Surge
  • Wintermint Rush
I was sent a kit that included a 250 mL bottle of the Peppermint Blast flavor and a fact sheet on the product:

Palmolive Soft Touch Dishwashing Liquid Review

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I was given two free bottles of Palmolive Soft Touch from Influenster.com to try and review.  All opinions are my own.

My husband and I like to pre-wash the dishes before we put them in the dishwasher.  We feel dishes get cleaner that way.  We also like to hand wash our pots, pans, wooden spoons, sippy cups and knives.  All that dishwashing can lead to dry hands.

So, I was excited when I was chosen by Influenster.com to try the new Palmolive Soft Touch dishwashing liquid.  It's supposed to be tough on grease, but soft on hands!  It's a mild formula with a touch of Vitamin E, Aloe or Coconut Butter.

Influenster sent a great kit that included one full size bottle to keep and one to share with a friend, as well as some coupons!  My box included the Vitamin E and Aloe varieties.

Tastykake® Kandy Bar Kakes Review

Friday, June 14, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free sample of Tastykake Kandy Bar Kakes from Influenster.com to try and review.  All opinions are my own.

I haven't had a Tastykake in YEARS!  When I was little, my Mom used to bring me Tastykake Jelly Krimpets when she came home from work.  Yum!  But then she stopped bringing them home and we never really bought them when we went out grocery shopping, so I stopped eating them.

So, I was pretty excited to learn that there was going to be a new kind of Tastykake in the Spring VoxBox from Influenster.  Tastykake Kandy Bar Kakes combine the taste of a candy bar with the freshness of a Tastykake.  Light and fluffy chocolate cakes are covered in chocolate and filled with a delicious creme filling.  They're even shaped like little candy bars!  They're available in three flavors:
  • Peanut Butter - Made with Reese's Peanut Butter
  • Peppermint - Made with Real York Peppermint Flavor
  • S'mores - Made with Real Hershey's Cocoa and topped with Graham Cracker Crumbles

Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure Review

Thursday, June 13, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure from Influenster.com to try and review.  All opinions are my own.

I almost never do my nails.  When I do get a manicure, it gets messed up almost immediately.  And I suck at painting my own nails.  So, I usually just keep my nails short and somewhat shape them with a file.

When I was given the Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure to try, I was a little skeptical.  The last time I used anything like it was way back in the days of the Lee Press-On Nails!  They were horrible and just looked fake.  I hoped that these would be better.

imPRESS Press-on Manicure gives you a salon-perfect manicure in seconds.  It's available in 36 different designs.  They feature:
  • No drying time - Just apply the nail covers and you're ready to go!  No need to wait for glue or nail polish to dry.
  • Superior, lasting shine - They have an indestructible top coat that rivals the best salon gel polish.
  • Easy removal - You can either gently peel the nail covers from the sides or apply nail polish remover to the edges, wait a minute and then peel off the covers.
  • Lasts up to a week - When applied properly, the manicure lasts up to a week, while keeping your nails protected.

BlackBerry Z10 Keeps You Moving Party

Wednesday, June 12, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I was sent a free BlackBerry Z10 phone by Crowdtap.com for testing and review purposes.  All opinions are my own.

I've been using the same cell phone -- an iPhone 3G -- for about four years now.  My contract ended two years ago.  But, because I was afraid to lose my unlimited data plan, I just never went to upgrade my phone.  I really needed a new phone, though.  My iPhone is slow and with the outdated operating system, more than half of the apps have stopped working.  I can't use Instagram, Facebook and Twitter tend to crash on me, and other apps tell me they need to be updated, which I can't do without the latest iOS version.

So, when I was invited by Crowdtap.com and Verizon Wireless to help celebrate the launch of the new BlackBerry Z10 phone, I was super excited.  I've never used a BlackBerry before and was interested to see how it compared to an iPhone.  My sisters used to own BlackBerry phones (Curve, Bold and Storm), but they weren't too happy with them.  It was going to be interesting to see if this newer BlackBerry would be better than the older ones.  Plus, I'm an AT&T Wireless subscriber. This was going to be a great way to see how service from Verizon compared to AT&T.  In my area, Verizon has more coverage, but I wasn't sure how their network speeds compared.

Party hosts were sent a great kit that included:
  • An active BlackBerry Z10
  • $150 American Express gift card (to help offset party expenses)
  • Ten USB pens for party guests
  • A Verizon Insider tote bag
  • Party handbook

Secret Outlast Clear Gel Review

Friday, June 7, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free Secret Outlast Clear Gel antiperspirant/deodorant from Influenster.com to try and review.  All opinions are my own.

I'm not really loyal to one brand of deodorant.  For some reason, one deodorant may work well for a little bit and then one day, it just stops working for me and I have to switch over to a different brand.  So, I've tried many different brands.  But, I haven't tried Secret Outlast Clear Gel!

Normally, I buy invisible solid deodorants.  They go on smoothly and normally don't leave many white marks on my clothes or underarms.  They also dry quickly after applying.  I haven't had success with gel deodorants in the past.  They don't always dispense evenly and don't normally go on clear.  But, I was definitely willing to give this deodorant a try.

Secret Outlast Clear Gel is supposed to go on clear and stay clear, avoiding white marks on your clothing.  Have you ever put on deodorant and then struggled to get your clothes on without getting deodorant on them?  See Jenni Pulos (from "Flipping Out" on Bravo) and her "Deo Dance" as she tries to get dressed after putting on deodorant!

The deodorant is also said to provide 48 hours of odor protection and is available in four scents: Completely Clean, Protecting Powder, Sport Fresh and Unscented.  Secret Outlast is also available in an invisible solid and smooth solid.

Spring Fever VoxBox from Influenster Overview

Thursday, June 6, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  As a member of Influenster, I was chosen to receive a set of several items to try and reviewAll opinions are my own.

I'm super excited to again be chosen to receive a VoxBox from Influenster!  If you're unfamiliar with Influenster, it's a community of members who are sent products to try and review.  Members share their experiences and complete Brand Challenges, for a chance to earn rewards.  The more you share, the more opportunities you have to earn rewards.

The theme of this VoxBox is "Spring Fever."  I was familiar with some of the brands featured in this VoxBox, but have never tried the products themselves.  The package contained:
  • Secret Outlast Clear Gel Antiperspirant/Deodorant - I've tried other forms of Secret deodorant, just not this one.  It's supposed to leave fewer white marks on clothes and provide 48 hours of odor and wetness protection.
  • NYC New York Color Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm - I've heard of this brand of makeup but have never tried any of their products.  This lip balm is supposed to deliver color, shine and moisture all in one swipe.  We'll see how well it works.  I have super dry lips!
  • Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-On Manicure - So, I haven't used press-on nails since the old-school Lee Press-On Nails.  They were horrible.  Let's hope these are a lot better!
  • Schwarzkopf Professional OSIS+ Dust It - I've never heard of this brand of hair products and I use a lot of salon hair products.  It's a mattifying powder that's supposed to add incredible root lift and texture -- things I normally don't look to add to my super thick hair.  We'll see if I like this.
  • Tastykake Kandy Bar Kakes - I haven't had a Tastykake in FOREVER!  My Mom used to bring us the Krimpets when she came home from work.  They were so good.  Too bad the one sent in my package was the Peanut Butter flavor.  I'm allergic. I guess someone else will have to try it for me.  Maybe I'll look for the Peppermint or S'mores one in the store so I can try that.
I'll be trying these out and posting my reviews in the next several days.  Check back to see what I thought of them!

Nude by Rihanna Eau de Parfum Spray Review

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free bottle of Nude by Rihanna fragrance from People StyleWatch Style Hunters to try and review.  All opinions are my own.

I usually wear perfume or some sort of fragrance pretty much everyday.  I like to smell nice, even if I don't end up leaving the house.  Thanks to being a member of the StyleWatch Style Hunters, I was able to try out a new fragrance: Nude by Rihanna.  It's the third fragrance by Rihanna.

Rihanna has been a favorite musical artist in our household for awhile.  My kids would sing "Umbrella" all the time!  So, it was going to be interesting to see what it would be like to smell like Rihanna!

I usually wear lighter fragrances.  I found Nude by Rihanna to be little stronger than what I'm used to wearing.  It's definitely a scent for those who want to be noticed!  It's a very complex fragrance, blending many layers of scents together.

The fragrance's top notes blend layers of guava nectar, mandarin and pear.  The center of the fragrance opens into a sultry softness with a blend of orange blossom, gardenia petals, and velvet jasmine sambac.  The seductive, milky gourmand base weaves together Sandalwood and Second-skin Musk, with the fresh and feminine hints of Vanilla Orchid, rounding out a fragrance that is at once daring, yet accessible.

Nude by Rihanna is available in a 1.0 oz bottle, 1.7 oz bottle and 3.4 oz bottle, a 6.7 oz body lotion and a gift set that includes a 3.4 oz Eau de Parfum Spray, .34 oz Eau de Parfum Pencil Spray, 3 oz Body Lotion and a bonus 3 oz Bath & Shower Gel.

Would you recommend it?  Maybe?  It depends on what kind of fragrances you like.  I found it to be much too strong for me.  But, if you like strong, bold scents, then you might like this one!

How much does it cost?  The 1.0 oz spray retails for about $35.00.  The 1.7 oz bottle retails for $49.00.  The 3.4 oz bottle is $59.00.  The 6 oz. body lotion is $30.00.  The gift set is $65.00.

Where can I buy it?  You can buy it from department stores and fine fragrance retailers.

Seventh Generation Natural Care Products Review

Sunday, June 2, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I received samples of Seventh Generation products from Smiley360 to try and review.  All opinions are my own.

As a whole, our family has been moving towards eating more organic and natural foods and using more natural products.  One area that we haven't made a total switch yet is with personal care products.  They tend to be expensive and sometimes not as effective as their chemical-laden counterparts.

Recently, I was given the opportunity to try out several products in the Seventh Generation line.  They included personal care and baby care items.  I was sent a kit that included samples of:
  • Seventh Generation for the Wee Generation Baby Shampoo & Wash, Light, Fresh Scent
  • Seventh Generation for the Wee Generation Baby Lotion, Light, Fresh Scent
  • Seventh Generation Baby Natural 4x Laundry Detergent
  • Seventh Generation Lavender Moisturizing Lotion
  • Seventh Generation Mandarin Nourishing Body Wash
  • Seventh Generation Mandarin Refreshing Facial Cleansing Cloths

I received these products when I was at the end of my last pregnancy and thought it was perfect timing!  I could use the baby products when baby arrived and I could pack away the personal care products in my hospital bag!

Get Fashionably Fit in Old Navy Activewear! - Summer 2013 Line Review

Friday, May 31, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I was given a coupon for me and a friend to receive a free Old Navy Active top and bottom, as a member of the Old Navy Style Council on Crowdtap.  All opinions are my own.

I just delivered my fourth child about a week ago.  I gained about 45 pounds with this pregnancy!  What would be a better motivator to get rid of the baby weight than some cute new activewear?  Luckily, I was selected to receive a free top and bottom from Old Navy's latest Active line and I got to share this opportunity with a friend!

I chose to go with one of my sisters.  After successfully finding a podiatrist and physical therapist who were finally able to help her with the foot problems that had been plaguing her for years, she's finally been able to start running again.  She desperately needed some new active wear and was so happy when I let her know we were going to get a complete set for free from Old Navy!  She had actually participated in one of these activewear sample shares with me before, but it was in the fall.  This time, we got to choose from Old Navy's activewear line for Spring!  Here we are with our coupons before we left to go shopping:

Old Navy's line of Activewear include pieces for running, yoga as well as general workout wear.  Some items feature Old Navy's GoDRY moisture-wicking fabric.  They also have a line of compression tanks, jackets, sport bras, capris, shorts and pants.
