Jurassic Park Movie Night With DIY Popcorn Bar #FLIPZMovieNight

Wednesday, December 30, 2015

DISCLOSURE: I received free samples of FLIPZ Chocolate Covered Pretzels from Smiley360 to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

My one son went to see the new Jurassic World movie when it came out this past summer. He liked it and even asked for the Blu-Ray for Christmas. But, he had never seen the original Jurassic Park movie!

We recently had our first Family Movie Night and I decided that it would be the perfect time for my son and my other kids to see the original Jurassic Park movie. I loved it watching it when I was younger and hoped my kids would like it, too.

Christmas Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies - RECIPE

Thursday, December 24, 2015

It's Christmas Eve! Usually, I spend the day before Christmas Eve doing all my baking. This year, I had to work, so I'm a little behind on all my baking. My kids and I always make cookies to eat and to leave out for Santa. A favorite that we make every year are these Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies from Betty Crocker.

I usually end up making two batches of these cookies. My kids love these and I usually bring them with me when we go to my sister's for Christmas Eve.

These are super easy to make. Plus, it starts with packaged sugar cookie mix! You'll need a package of sugar cookie dough, a stick of butter (softened), creme de menthe baking chips, semisweet chocolate chunks, green food coloring, an egg and peppermint extract.

I start by stirring the sugar cookie mix and the softened butter together. It helps to cut up the butter into smaller pieces and I find just using my hand helps the dough to come together.

Once the butter and sugar cookie mix is mixed together, I add the food color, peppermint extract, and egg and mix that all together.

Next, I add a cup each of the creme de menthe baking chips and chocolate chunks. Make sure to mix it well!

Scoop about a teaspoon of dough and shape into a ball and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment. Bake for 8-10 minutes.

The recipe can be found here.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Ornament Rice Krispy Treats #AirheadsCrafts

Monday, December 14, 2015

DISCLOSURE: I received free samples of Airheads candy from Smiley360 to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

As hard as it is to believe, Christmas Eve is only ten days away! I've been sick the past week and a half, so I am way behind on everything! I've barely started my Christmas shopping and haven't even thought about my Christmas baking!

Today, I thought I'd do something simple. I've had this huge bag of S'mores sized marshmallows just sitting in my pantry. We had made little treat bags for Cub Scouts this past summer when my husband's pack was recruiting and we had bought too many marshmallows. I thought it would be good to have some homemade Rice Krispy Treats. I haven't made any in awhile.
