Celebrate #NationalSunglassesDay on June 27
Tuesday, June 27, 2017
DISCLOSURE: I am a licensed, practicing optometrist, employed by Luxottica Group. This post contains affiliate links. All opinions are my own.
I don't post very often about my job. But, as a practicing optometrist, one thing I make sure to discuss with all my patients is the importance of wearing sunglasses to protect eyes from UV exposure. Long term exposure to UV radiation can accelerate the development of cataracts and age-related macular degeneration.
Annually, The Vision Council hosts National Sunglasses Day on June 27 to remind people to wear sunglasses whenever they're outside. To celebrate, they encourage you to post a #SunglassSelfie of yourself in sunglasses to your favorite social media channel(s) and to include the #NationalSunglassesDay.
Revlon Youth FX - REVIEW
Tuesday, June 20, 2017
DISCLOSURE: I received free samples from Crowdtap for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
I turn 40 next year, which is such a scary thought! And while I'm fortunate to look younger than I am, I know that it won't last forever. The past few years, I've added more products to my daily skincare routine to try and delay any signs of aging.
I recently had the chance to try the Youth FX system from Revlon. It consists of a primer for your forehead, a primer for your face and neck, a concealer and a foundation.

I've lived in the DC area pretty much my whole life. And yet, there are so many places in the area that I've never been to. I've always wanted to take the time to just play tourist and explore. So many people come to DC to visit the monuments and museums and I've probably only seen a handful of them.
I recently discovered a fun way to explore the city. Urban Adventure Quest gives you a chance to turn your favorite city into a giant game board. They offer fun scavenger hunt adventures that you can complete with your family and/or friends. Guided from any smart phone, teams make their way among well known and overlooked gems of the city, solving clues and completing challenges while learning local history. Play anytime during daylight hours. Start when you want and play at your pace.
Urban Adventure Quests are available in a variety of popular cities including Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Fort Worth, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Vancouver and Washington, D.C. For a complete list, visit this link.

NCircle's Entertainment's The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About Camping DVD - REVIEW + GIVEAWAY
Saturday, June 3, 2017
DISCLOSURE: As an NCircle Ambassador, I received a free DVD for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
We're big fans of Dr. Seuss and The Cat In The Hat books. When my kids were younger, they really enjoyed having the Dr. Seuss books read to them. And even now, my six-year-old son loves to read them himself.
A couple years ago, my kids found The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That show on Netflix. They really liked watching it and also liked the Christmas special they have on Netflix. So, when I showed my kids we could review a Cat In The Hat DVD, they were excited to get it.

I am so not a good cook. On most nights, my husband is the one who makes dinner. I'm just not very good at looking at what we have in the house and then whipping something up. I need a recipe to follow. Depending on the semester, my husband sometimes teaches late, and so on those nights, I'm in charge of dinner. If I'm not ordering out, then I usually look for a recipe that doesn't look too hard and then I go out and buy the ingredients I need.
