Braun No Touch + Forehead Thermometer Review

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free product from Klout to facilitate this review.  All opinions are my own.

It's the season for colds and the flu.  Each of my kids have already been sick at least once since school started at the end of August.  That means coughs, sneezing, runny noses and fevers.  Sometimes, it can be a struggle to get a temperature reading on my kids -- especially, the baby.  We have been using an external thermometer that you swipe on the child's forehead.  Sometimes she cooperates.  Other times she fights me.  But, if you don't do it correctly, then you don't get an accurate reading.

So, I was pretty excited to try out the Braun No Touch + Forehead Thermometer!  It would be great to not even have to touch my daughter's forehead and still get a good reading!  I could even do it when she's asleep without fear of waking her up!

What's In The Box?

  • The Braun No Touch + Forehead Thermometer
  • Protective Cap
  • 2 AA batteries
The thermometer was very easy to set up right out of the box.  Just put in the included AA batteries and you're ready to go!

You have the option to either measure the temperature from a distance of about 5 cm away or directly on the forehead.  When No Touch readings, you aim the thermometer at the center of the forehead.  A yellow guiding light shows you where you're aiming.

If you're too far away, it will tell you to move forward.

Once within range, hold the thermometer steady and you should have a reading in about two seconds! It's so fast!

To measure the temperature directly on the forehead, place the thermometer in the center of the forehead, just between the eyebrows.  Press the temperature button and again, you should get a reading pretty quickly.

The temperature readings are color coded to assist in determining if your child has a fever:
  • GREEN - > 96.3 - 99.4 degrees F = Acceptable
  • YELLOW - > 99.4 - 101.3 degrees F = Elevated
  • RED - > 101.3 - 108.0 degrees F = Possible high fever
My daughter was just getting over a fever from teething and her temps ranged from 99.1 - 99.7 degrees while we were testing out the thermometer.

Would you recommend it?  Absolutely!  This is my new go-to thermometer to use when checking the family's temperature.  It's so easy to use and you get results fast.  I like to try and take a few readings and get an average before determining if we have a fever or not and this makes it easy to do.  I also love that I don't even have to touch my child's forehead to get a reading!

How much does it cost?  The Braun No Touch + Forehead Thermometer's retail price is $65.99.

Where can I buy it?  You can find it at all major drug stores, mass merchandisers, grocery stores and online retailers.
