Find Me! - Seek and Find Book Series - REVIEW

DISCLOSURE: I received free books in exchange for my honest review. No further compensation was provided. All opinions are my own.

The schools closed in our state a little over a month ago. While they have given us packets and some general guidelines on what we should be teaching them, I've struggled with other ways to keep my kids engaged and interested. Sometimes the material in the packets would be too tedious and my kids would get tired or bored.

Recently, I had the chance to review two books from a new series from Happy Fox Books, called Find Me! They were a happy distraction for my kids from their usual math and reading assignments. And it also kept them occupied for a bit, which allowed me to get some work done. That was greatly appreciated, now that the kids are here all the time!

ABOUT FIND ME!

The four-book series follow Bernard, a lovable wolf with poor eyesight and chunky glasses, and Michael, a helpful squirrel who challenges Bernard to strengthen his vision by searching for objects and animals in various colorful and stunning naturescapes. Together, they go on seek-and-find adventures in the ocean, forest, the sky, and even underground.

The vibrantly illustrated activity books use critical thinking skills and abstract thought. Not only are children invited to look for characters, they're also invited to spot "which one in the group who looks like he's laughing," or "which one looks like she has an upset stomach." With all Happy Fox books, learning through engagement is key. This series, in particular, provides an educational value that will not only delight young children, but their parents, grandparents, and guardians as well.

REVIEW

My youngest kids had fun with these books. They are 6 and 9 and they went through the books together. They did a pretty good job at finding what they needed to find. Often, faster than I could find them! The books are aimed at kids age 8-9, but my 6 year old did pretty well with them.

These books would be fun rainy day activity or something to break the monotony of the current shelter in place situations.

Find Me! Adventures In The Forest and Find Me! Adventures In The Ocean are currently available. Find Me! Adventures In The Sky and Find Me! Adventures Underground will be available in August 2020.
