Sweeten With Sweet'N Low

Monday, June 30, 2014

DISCLOSURE:  I was given free products from Crowdtap to facilitate this post.  All opinions are my own.

Many years ago (maybe at least ten years!), whenever I needed to add sweetener to my coffee, I would reach for Sweet'N Low.  I found it would take a few packets of regular sugar to get the right amount of sweetness, but just one Sweet'N Low would do the trick.  That all changed when I was introduced to Splenda.  I haven't used anything else since then.

I recently had the opportunity to try Sweet'N Low again.  I was sent a little kit with a box of Sweet'N Low, drink recipes and samples and coupons to pass out to friends.

Schick Hydro 5 Groomer Review

Sunday, June 29, 2014

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free product from Crowdtap to facilitate this review.  My opinions are my own.

I am not a fan of facial hair.  I prefer my men clean-shaven.  And for the most part, my husband complies.  There was the one year --around Christmas time -- when he decided he was going to grow a full beard and mustache.  Luckily, by New Year's Eve, he had shaved it all off.  It was too itchy and I wasn't going anywhere near it!  There was also the other time he decided maybe just a mustache would look good.  I made a point of not going out in public with him!

About a week ago, I was at work and my husband had taken the kids to the local playground.  I got a text from him saying that he had fallen off the monkey bars and split his jaw and was probably going to need stitches.  I still had a whole afternoon's worth of patients to see and no one else to cover for me.  He was going to have to wait until I got home before heading to the ER.  So, he just put a Band-Aid on it before he had it looked at.  In the end, he needed a few stitches and wasn't allowed to shave his face until the stitches came out.  It was going to be a long 5-7 days!

Physicians Formula Bronze Booster Glow-Boosting BB Bronzer Review

Wednesday, June 25, 2014

DISCLOSURE:  I received free product from StyleWatch Stylehunters to facilitate this review.  My opinions are my own.

I love products that can multi-task.  Anything that helps save me time when getting ready in the morning is a must for me.  It can be kind of crazy in a house with four kids and so my makeup routine needs to be fast.  But, I also don't want to look like I didn't really put any effort into getting ready.  In the last few years, I've discovered BB creams.  I love that BB creams moisturize, prime and even out my skin tone.  I can wear it alone or under foundation, if I want more coverage.

I recently had the chance to try Physicians Formula Bronze Booster Glow-Boosting BB Bronzer.  It combines the benefits of a bronzer with a BB cream.  It protects, moisturizes, smooths, brightens and softens lines.  It comes in a mistake-proof formula that's stain-free, streak-free, orange-free and odor-free -- unlike some sunless tanners.  It's also good to note that Bronze Booster is paraben-free and gluten-Free.

L'Oreal Extraordinaire by Colour Riche Lipstick Review

Monday, June 23, 2014

DISCLOSURE:  I received free product from StyleWatch Style Hunters to facilitate this review.  My opinions are my own.

I'm always on the search for the perfect lipstick.  Often, it's hard to find the right shade and the right formula for my lips.  Some are too drying and with others, the color's gone before I even head out the door!  It's hard to find that right balance of color and moisture.

I recently had the opportunity to try L'Oreal Extraordinaire by Colour Riche Lipstick.  It's made to be rich like a lipstick, shiny like a gloss and smooth like a balm.  It's formulated with precious micro-oils and rich color pigments to provide the ideal balance of color and care for perfect lips.  It's available in 16 shades.

I was sent the shade Blushing Harmony, which is a nice, pretty, neutral shade.  The lipstick comes in a 0.18 fl oz tube and is applied with a wand.

Poise Microliners Review

DISCLOSURE:  I received free products from Crowdtap to facilitate this review.  All opinions are my own.

Have you ever laughed so hard you peed a little?  I have.  But, occasionally, it happens when I'm not laughing.  Light Bladder Leakage (or LBL) is no laughing matter.  It can be pretty embarrassing.  And while it doesn't happen too often for me, 1 out of 3 women experiences LBL.

Fortunately, there are products available to help one manage LBL.  Poise has a line of liners and pads to provide protection against LBL.  They feature Super Absorbent Material, or SAM, which absorbs wetness, neutralizes odor, and helps keep you dry.

Five Non-Beach Activities In The Outer Banks

Tuesday, June 10, 2014

DISCLOSURE:  None.

We just returned from our annual trip to the Outer Banks in North Carolina.  Each year, we spend a week with my husband's family at a home his parents rent.  While the bulk of our time there is spent relaxing at the beach or pool, there are times when the kids want to do something else.

The following are some of the activities we enjoy doing each year.  While this list doesn't include all the great activities the Outer Banks has to offer, these are some of our favorites.

Beech-Nut 100% Natural Baby Food Review

Monday, June 2, 2014

DISCLOSURE:  I received free product to facilitate this review from Moms Meet.  My opinions are my own.

Baby girl has been eating solids now for several months.  While we prefer to feed her foods that we prepare ourselves, sometimes it's nice to have the convenience of packaged baby foods.

Beech-Nut has recently come out with a new line of baby food.  We haven't bought Beech-Nut in a long time.  Probably, the last time was when my oldest was a baby -- and she's now 9!  This new line is inspired by homemade baby food.  It's 100% natural and doesn't contain preservatives, artificial colors, flavors or ingredients, or any added water.  It's gently cooked, using indirect heat so that none of the flavors or ingredients gets watered down.  Plus, each jar of Beech-Nut food contains at least one full serving of fruits or vegetables.

Beech-Nut's new line of food is available in Stage 1, 2 and 3 and comes in 40 flavors.  Thanks to Moms Meet, I had the opportunity to try Just Honeycrisp Apples, Just Pear & Black Cherry, Just Pineapple, Pear & Avocado, and Just Apple & Aronia Berry.
