Beech-Nut 100% Natural Baby Food Review

Monday, June 2, 2014

DISCLOSURE:  I received free product to facilitate this review from Moms Meet.  My opinions are my own.

Baby girl has been eating solids now for several months.  While we prefer to feed her foods that we prepare ourselves, sometimes it's nice to have the convenience of packaged baby foods.

Beech-Nut has recently come out with a new line of baby food.  We haven't bought Beech-Nut in a long time.  Probably, the last time was when my oldest was a baby -- and she's now 9!  This new line is inspired by homemade baby food.  It's 100% natural and doesn't contain preservatives, artificial colors, flavors or ingredients, or any added water.  It's gently cooked, using indirect heat so that none of the flavors or ingredients gets watered down.  Plus, each jar of Beech-Nut food contains at least one full serving of fruits or vegetables.

Beech-Nut's new line of food is available in Stage 1, 2 and 3 and comes in 40 flavors.  Thanks to Moms Meet, I had the opportunity to try Just Honeycrisp Apples, Just Pear & Black Cherry, Just Pineapple, Pear & Avocado, and Just Apple & Aronia Berry.

I set up a play date with my sister and her daughter.  They live about an hour and a half away and we hadn't been over since January.  So, it was going to be nice to see them.  My niece is only 11 weeks younger than my daughter.

My sister hadn't tried the new Beech-Nut line yet and was surprised at how big the containers were.  They each contain 4.25 oz of baby food, while the typical baby food container holds about 3.5 oz.  She was also intrigued by the flavors.  We would have never thought to put pineapple, pear and avocado together!  And none of us knew what an aronia berry was!

The babies enjoyed the food, though!

After the babies ate some food, the adults then took turns trying out the different flavors.

We all decided we liked the Pear & Black Cherry the least.  My sister and I found it to be too tart.  My husband didn't find it to be that bad.  My sister and my husband liked the Pineapple, Pear & Avocado the best.  I liked the Honeycrisp Apple the best.  I also didn't think the Apple & Aronia Berry was that bad, but my sister didn't like it.  The babies didn't seem to show a preference for any of them.

You can see which one was the most popular!
