By December, I was so looking forward to the New Year. Really, I just wanted to skip Christmas and New Year's and just move on to 2024. And now it's here!
I was so over 2023. It had its highlights and I'm thankful for what I accomplished.
I start out each year with usually the same goals. Last year I wanted to continue my fitness journey, make more time for my hobbies, be more social and travel more. I think other than the traveling more, I did pretty good on the other goals. I completed several fitness challenges. I am still about the same weight I was when I started the year, but maybe a little stronger. I hung out with more people last year and spent more time with people I care about. And I crocheted more. Here's a Instagram Reel with some of my favorites:
And so now, what am I hoping to accomplish in 2024?
1. Start a curly hair journey. My hair is naturally wavy. It's probably between a 2a and 2b. I usually blow dry and flat iron it straight. That led to a lot of damage. So, this year, my goal is to embrace my natural texture and learn to style it properly and use fewer heat styling tools. If you have any tips, pass them on!
2. Make time for my friends. I was able to hang out with friends more last year and I would love for that trend to continue this year. Lunch dates. Brunches. After work cocktails. I'd love for it to be a monthly thing.
3. Travel somewhere new. We usually go the same places each year. I would love to try and visit a new place this year. Either with family or friends or by myself.
4. Love myself more. I have such low self-esteem. There are days when I look at myself in the mirror and tell myself how ugly I am. I don't like looking at pictures of myself. I'm my own worst critic. This year, I hope to have more self-confidence and learn to see myself how others see me.
I think that is a good start of goals for the year. I think the last one will be the hardest for me.
What are your goals this year?
Love this, especially the loving ourselves more
