One could say I'm obsessed with my hair. I'm constantly changing the color and cut and spend way too long styling it in the morning. I'm always looking for new products that would help make my hair look and feel good. So, when I was given the opportunity to try a craft beer shampoo and conditioner, I knew I had to sign up!
I actually hadn't heard of rinsing your hair with beer to make it stronger and shinier, but apparently, people have been doing it for years! BRÖÖ Craft Beer Shampoos and Conditioners use all-malt, freshly-hopped craft beer as the main ingredient. Malted barley in beer releases B vitamins and proteins and help to nourish and condition hair. The essential oils from the hops flowers are filled with antioxidants that help to protect hair from the environment.
BRÖÖ Craft Beer Shampoo and Conditioner is available in three varieties:
- Thickening
- Moisturizing
- Invigorating
All BRÖÖ products are made with premium ingredients and do not contain harmful chemicals. I loved that their products were safe for color-treated hair. Plus, a portion of every sale goes to clean water initiatives worldwide.

I was a little apprehensive about trying the thickening shampoo and conditioner. I have super thick hair to begin with. Every stylist that I've visited has made a comment about how much hair I have. Usually, it's when they're drying it and it's taking forever!
The Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner both use barley protein to bodify, amplify and add volume. Aloe leaf extracts soothe hair and caffeine stimulates the scalp, awakening the follicles.
I felt the shampoo was kind of runny. But, it could be just because I didn't read the instructions. You're supposed to shake it well before using it. The shampoo lathered well and left my hair feeling clean and soft. The conditioner softened and smoothed my hair. I was surprised that they didn't smell like beer. I actually would've preferred them to smell like beer. I didn't really care for the Citrus Creme scent of the Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner.
Overall, I felt the BRÖÖ Craft Beer Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner did add some volume, but not enough to make me freak out about it being too big. My hair was soft and smooth and none of the color that I had put into it last week came out -- so that was a plus!
Each bottle of BRÖÖ Shampoo and Conditioner retails for $7.49. They are available for purchase at select stores such as Walmart and Bed, Bath & Beyond. To find a retailer near you, use the Store Locator. Print this coupon and save $1.00!
