Fall Into Style With prAna - REVIEW #MamaInPrana #MomsMeet

Tuesday, October 17, 2017

DISCLOSURE: I received this product for free from Moms Meet (momsmeet.com), May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. As a Moms Meet blogger, I agree to use this product and post my honest opinion on my blog. The opinions posted are my own.

It has been unseasonably warm the past month or so, but it's now finally starting to cool down. It actually feels like Fall now. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. It's boots and sweater weather!

This month, I had the opportunity to style some pieces from prAna, thanks to Moms Meet. I've never worn anything by prAna before, but had always been curious about their clothing. I had seen prAna clothing while shopping at our local REI and had equated the brand with active wear and yoga clothing. It wasn't until last year, when attending the Moms Meet WOW Summit, that I saw that prAna carries much more than just active wear.

What Is prAna?

For the review, we could choose one top and one bottom from a selection of items. But, due to inventory issues, I didn't get exactly what I had wanted. I received the Aya Sweater (retail $129.00) and the Caraway Tight (retail $89.00) to try. I had originally wanted to try the Kara Jean. All the reviews sounded really great for it. But, they didn't have it in the size and color that I wanted. Because I felt the two items that I did receive didn't go very well together, I styled them separately.

Aya Sweater

As someone who's probably in a dress 90% of the time, I had a hard time picking which top to go with. Of the ones we had to choose from, I felt the Aya Sweater was something I'd actually wear more than once. I ordered it in the color Gravel and I went with an XS. I'm pretty petite and would have probably ordered an XXS, if that option was available.
  • Recycled wool blend novelty cable knit
  • Button sleeve plackets
  • Sueded fleece lined cuff and hem facing for extra comfort
  • Standard fit
  • Imported
I found the sweater to be kind of big and boxy. It's also somewhat itchy, since it's made of wool. I ended up wearing it over one of my summer dresses and pairing it with my new favorite over-the-knee boots. This would be a great way to continue wearing your sundresses into the cooler months.

I did love the color and felt it could be worn with just about anything. It's warm and cozy!

Caraway Tight

I am not a leggings girl. I really don't wear leggings at all. So, when these arrived, I really wasn't sure what to do with them. Maybe if the top I had received was an athletic top, they would've paired together better. Or if the sweater was a little longer, I would've paired them with the leggings and boots.

I received the Caraway Tight in Black Birdeye in size Small. I'm a little wider at the bottom and usually wear a size 2. The Small fit well.

  • Wide waistband with hidden mesh pocket
  • Flatlock construction
  • Triangle gusset for comfort and reinforcement
  • Infinity drawcord inside waistband
  • Reflective taping at bottom side seams
  • Reflective mini diamond logo at center back waistband
  • Size Small = 27 (68.58) inseam
  • Fitted
  • Classic Rise
  • Imported
The leggings were soft and weren't too thin. Even though they are compression pants, they didn't feel too tight. They were comfortable to wear. I didn't actually work out in them, but I believe they would move well with me, no matter what kind of activity I was doing. I styled them two ways. The first as active wear and the second in a more casual, going-out-around-town look. I thought the leggings worked well for both looks.
